The Jodrell Bank Song
When the Science and Technology Facilities Council announced plans to cut back the funding for Jodrell Bank the world was outraged. Quite simply, without funding the site cannot continue to operate!
The Lovell Telescope at Jodrell Bank Observatory has dominated the Cheshire skyline for over half a century and we're certainly not going to let it go without a fight!
Cheshire's Silk 106.9 felt as though we had to do something to keep the plight of Jodrell Bank in the news - and we have! A month on, and local schools, students and radio presenters have joined forces to write and record, The Jodrell Bank Song. The song has been released as a download-only single. All proceeds from sales of the song will go towards keeping Jodrell Bank operating.
Already set to become a huge YouTube sensation, with the hilarious video shot beneath the iconic Lovell telescope, you can download the song and help the crusade to save this much loved symbol of British greatness!
