Tatton MP Says British Taxpayers Won’t Pay for Euro Debt
The Chancellor says Eurozone leaders have put the continent’s economy on “the right road”.
They reached an agreement on Thursday morning to solve the crisis in the single currency.
Banks are having to write off 50 percent of Greek debt, and the Eurozone
bailout fund will be increased to 1-trillion Euros.
Tatton MP George Osborne says there’s NO prospect of British taxpayers contributing.

Road Safety Charity Calls for Clock Re-think
A new campaign is being launched in Cheshire, calling for a three-year trial to shift UK clocks forward by one hour throughout the year.
Autoglass and road safety charity Brake say this would help save lives on our
roads during winter.
The clocks go back this weekend – and campaigners say road accidents increase four-fold at this time of year.

Health Inequality Blamed for Heart Disease Rates
Cheshire still has some of the highest rates of heart disease in the country.
And health inequality is being blamed.
According to figures by charity Heart of Mersey, people living in the most deprived areas of east Cheshire are three times more likely to die of heart disease than others.
HGV Drivers in Police Operation
Cheshire Police have been getting tough with HGV drivers who have been ignoring road safety.
Officers were on the look out for people not wearing seat belts, using mobile phones and eating or drinking at the wheel.
In the last year, mobile phones contributed to nine people being injured on the regions roads.
Thirty four penalty tickets were issued during the operation last week.

Bird Experts to Tackle Starling Population
Avian and environmental health experts are looking at ways to control starlings in Nantwich.
There is concern their numbers are going out of control.
The birds have settled in areas stretching from the old cemetery on Middlewich Road, through the town centre and near to Brine Leas School.
A pilot study will now take place to test methods and all of the findings will be included in a report by the end of the year.
Man Hospitalised After Attack
A man has been arrested and charged following a serious assault in Macclesfield.
Police were called to Brocklehurst Avenue at around 4am on Sunday morning.
A 21 year old man has been seriously assaulted, suffering a head injury.
He’s still in hospital.
Two other people, a man and woman had also been assaulted but were not seriously injured.

Appeal Over Fatal Crash
A witness appeal’s been launched after a fatal crash on the A34.
A 22-year-old man’s been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after another man was killed in the collision last week.
Despite an air ambulance being drafted in, a 22-year-old man from Altrincham died at the scene.
The drivers and one passenger of three other vehicles suffered minor injuries.
PUBLIC URGED TO CHECK FOR MENINGITIS
A meningitis awareness campaign’s underway.
The Health Protection Agency’s targeting young people in partciular.
It’s because, along with the elderly, they’re most at risk of contractng it.
Calico Heslop from Nantwich suffered from the disease – she says it’s not worth taking any chances.

QUEEN’S PROTECTING CHESHIRE PLAYING FIELDS
The Queen Elizabeth II Fields Challenge is under way.
We’re being urged to get voting, as the scheme aims to protect playing fields.
The ‘Save a space for me’ campaign is also part of commemorations for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee next year.
More than 2,000 sites will be commemorated across the UK but they must be nominated by local residents.
Voting starts on October 18th, and will continue for four weeks.

17 POISONED AT STOCKPORT HOSPITAL
It’s thought at least 17 people were poisoned by contaminated saline at a Stockport
hospital.
Greater Manchester Police are now able to confirm the exact number after toxicology and medical tests.
Officers were called to Stepping Hill Hospital after three people died in July.

MAN STEALS FROM GOOD SAMARITAN
Police are warning the public to be on their guard, after a man pretending to be hurt snatched a woman’s handbag in Crewe.
She had gone to his aid after he’d called for help.
The man is described as in his late 30s, early 40s and had stubble on his face.
He was wearing a black knitted hat, duffel coat, old tracksuit bottoms and old trainers.

Roadshow events have bene held in Macclesfield and Crewe to tackle disability hate crime.
Organised by Cheshire East Council and other agencies, information and advice have been offered to residents.

COLLISION ON CONGLETON ROAD IN MACCLESFIELD
There’s been a serious road traffic collision on the A34 Congleton Road in Macclesfield.
A car and a coach collided at around 7.30am between the Monks Heath traffic lights and Mill Lane.
The woman driving the car has suffered serious injuries.
DEAFNESS CHARITY SEEKING SUPPORT
A charity that helps the deaf and hard of hearing in Macclesfield and Northwich / Chester is calling for help from local firms.
The Deafness Support Network is asking businesses to make a pledge for this year’s Big Give Christmas Challenge.

The report said that Abbeysfields didn’t fit in with the Congleton Local Plan and might have prejudiced work being carried out on the Local development Framework.

New figures show around one million children in the UK are obese and a third of children aged two to 11 do less than 60 minutes of moderate activity each day.

New silver bins are being delivered to give residents a simpler three-bin system.
The emphasis of Think Silver, Think Recycling is on the silver bin, which will be used to collect all dry recyclables, including aerosols, cartons and foil.
New Highways Service Provider for Cheshire East
Over £1 million is set to be saved on Cheshire East’s highways.
The Council says it’s commissioned a new highways service provider.
Ringway Jacobs will be targeting pothole repairs, highways management, gritting, streetlights, and maintenance.
